The Gospel

It's all about restoring our relationship with God.

We were created for a relationship—with God and with one another. But sin damages those relationships and separates us from the life God intended. The Gospel is the good news that God has acted through Jesus Christ to offer forgiveness, reconciliation, hope, and a restored relationship with Him.

We Need a Restored Relationship

None of us has lived perfectly. Scripture teaches that all people fall short of God's standard and cannot restore themselves to Him simply by being good, doing good things, or becoming more religious. We need God's help.

God Came to Rescue Us

God's love is revealed through Jesus Christ. Jesus gave His life for our sins and rose again, making forgiveness and reconciliation with God possible. The Gospel is not about earning God's love. It is about receiving the grace God has already offered.

God Invites Us Into Relationship

God offers us forgiveness, new life, hope, purpose, and a relationship with Him through Jesus. That invitation is personal. Each of us must decide how we will respond.

RESPONDING TO THE GOSPEL

Responding to the Gospel

The Audio Outreach discipleship materials describe a response that includes:

1. Faith

Trusting Jesus Christ.

2. Love

Responding to God's love with love for Him.

3. Repentance

Turning from our old direction toward God.

4. Confession

Openly acknowledging Jesus as Lord.

5. Baptism

Publicly entering a new life of faith and obedience.

Responding to the Gospel

Following Jesus is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of a lifelong journey of learning, prayer, fellowship, transformation, obedience, and helping others discover the same hope.
